ext2fs:
One of the file systems used by Linux. Considered as one of the best file systems by many.
The FilesystemGroup plans an implementation of ext2fs as a Pluggable File System for JOS.

i would like to work on the implementation of ext2 but i don't know where to start or if anyother one has started already working on this..

could everyone, working on this project, put a little status message here ? there is no information how much work has been done .. if there are any source available..

(take your time - i'm on vacation till 16-APR - london :))

Check out the FilesystemGroup.

i guess thats the problem with wicki - everyone puts his information wherever he wants.. no, stuff about ext2fs definatly belongs here and not somewhere else.

Although I don't see this as a problem, I have put a link to FilesystemGroup on this page. (Wiki rules! :-))

It'd be very cool to have a java implementation of this wiked soon. Once we have a kernel up... it's be nice to be able to read stuff from the filesystem? The kernel might start as a linux boot image, thus ext2fs would have to be the first file system we support.

NicolaiGuba works on ext2fs. I didn't hear from him since 1-2 weeks, but I think he's already getting into it.

(PS: Have you already seen that cute little diagrams on FilesystemArchitecture?) ;-)
