Hello -- I sent a similar message to Marcus, before reading over the mailing list archive. I'm interested in helping with the Java OS. I'm a consultant working in New York on a pure Java project. My skills are largely O/O design and architecture. Java is my primary focus, but I've got a lot of skill in ActiveX and VB as well. I have to admit I know next to nothing about the kernel issues -- I'm much more useful working on the human side of the design. I've got a lot of knowledge about the new features in 1.1 -- internationalization (obviously a concern), serialization, the JFC, etc . . . What I'm most concerned with is that the OS be completely user-friendly. The install and management of this system should be so simple anyone can do it with a one-sided sheet of instructions to work from. If we can do this, then we have a OS which could actually make inroads in the corporate sphere. -- Chris Bergstresser chris@subtlety.com
