Viewpoints to help understand where I come from and what I say: 
 -  One of Wirth's biggest mistakes was to omit security from the Oberon language and hence the Oberon system.
 -  Bershad is wrong, security is not a software issue; it is a system issue.
 -  Bershad is correct, security is a software issue; proper software can manage most security issues with minimial hardware assistance.
 -  The recent death of Prof Jochen Liedtke www.l4ka.org was a great loss to operating system development.
Long-term Projects:
I'd like to build a secure Oberon-like system, its working title is Pluto.
Im using Java security as a proto-typing platform for Pluto.
Make enough money commercially to be able to live on an academics salary.
Short-term Projects:
Finish the GEOFF embedded virtual machine description.
Get a working GEOFF implementation.
Get a working JavaBIOS based on GEOFF.
Unscheduled goals:
Finish my PhD (its in security).
Get a job.
