Introduction

Your help is needed! What do we know about the reg protocol? I believe there is a reg protocol from Microsoft. It is a registered protocol in my browser. Maybe it provides access to Active/X components. Maybe it is used in the Java Add-on from Sun Microsystems.

What it looks like

The reg protocol is only two parts: protocol and component identifier, like this:

reg:<EM>component-identifier</EM>
