The JOS Wiki is in desperate need of web stewards. There's no requirements except for being a registered wiki user.
What is a WebSteward?
A WebSteward is someone that looks after the wiki web. Like a garden, the wiki can grow unruly and ugly without constant attention. Web stewards are like wiki gardeners. Our job is to organize, prune, and display the wiki pages so that our wiki continues to grow and prosper.
Like any good gardener, as a WebSteward we should:
- Rake out the dead leaves. We need to clean out parts of wiki pages that are obsolete.
- Prune back the overgrown branches. We must summarize and update old comments to keep pages from dying under the weight of comment overgrowth.
- Categorize the members of our garden. We should create and maintain "directory" and "index" pages to organize common pages. If we don't, valuable pages will be lost in obscurity.
- Create paths, intepretive walkthroughs, and guided tours to help newcomers find their way in our Wiki.
So grab your browser and dig right in. Our JOS Wiki has grown a bit wild but there's a beautiful garden hidden there, waiting to be uncovered.
