Dave Stubbs

I'm Dave Stubbs. I've been playing with Java since it began to exist, and have been watching the JOS project since 1997. As a corporate IT manager I have implemented Java-based solutions in my company a few times. I find them innovative and refreshingly original. If you wish to know what I mean, just check out Jext. But, as always, the biggest problem is speed. I think Java will never really shine as it could until computers boot Java, or come as close as possible to doing that. When it flies, I think JOS has the potential to be as big as Linux.

I'm really not much more than a fledgling programmer - a couple of my programs run business-to-business data gateways, but my interest in JOS and inspiration to jump in comes from the observation that most of the people pages on the site are stagnating badly. There are comments floating around that the JOS project is dead, whereas I have been rousingly assured that this is not the case.

Well, people need to know this. I know can help with that.
