Here we can discuss (and draw conclusions) why people join
our project(s).
We want more people to help us, so we want to help them
join us, and work here.
WhyJoinJOS Discussion
But why do people join JOS? I think it's imperative
we make clear what expectations JOS collaborators have,
and what benefits they expect and deserve to get, from our
work.

SeriousCollaboration/SeriousPeople is, I agree, what we
should be attracting, but IMHO this can only happen if we plan
for it, and do something to make it happen.
- First, decide who we want to attract to our project(s)
- Explain: why should new/old collaborators invest time in JOS?
- What we can do to help them to help us?

Wow. Oops.

JamundFerguson lists:
> Reasons why I joined JOS
- I wanted to help shape the next generation of computing
- I wanted to work with a group of people, so if I had a question I could ask somebody for help, without being chewed out on IRC
- If we could do it, I would learn so much in the proccess about Java, specifically
- It would encourage people to develop more good Java software, and maybe influence bigger companies that developing for Java would probably be a good thing
- Jos could prove that Java is a truly powerfull language
- 'Worked on a project to create a free Java OS' would look great on a resume
- My friends and family think that windows is too hard for the simple things that they do.
Who Will Come? Who Are We?
- New JOS collaborators
- Old JOS collaborators
- Java students
- Developers (industrial/commercial)
- OOA/D designers
- End-users of Java/FreeWare tools
- Academic researchers
- FreeWare supporters/activists
- Wed site designers/developers
